A few months ago we responded to an ad posted on a bulletin board at the library. It was placed by a photography student at BYU who was working on her final project and wanted to photograph little kids who do sign language. She came over and took some photos of S-Boogie doing some signs and a few other cute ones of her and just gave us the CD with her pictures. If you want to see the whole exhibit (ie, not just S-Boogie), it will be on display at the Harris Fine Arts Center at BYU from May 16 through the 31st.

Umm . . . Why would we want to see anyone but S-Boogie?
LUCKY!!!! I wish I could go see S-Boogie, my FAVORITE niece EVER.
:-(
She really is cute. And smart.
Edgy, if you go see her surrounded by pictures of other kids, only then will you be truly able to appreciate her fabulousness simply by the contrast itself. :)
Does Sophie still use signs? Savannah phased them out once she learned how to talk. Every now and then she'll do 'all done' or she'll applaud herself in ASL, but thats it.
And I still can't get over her pretty blonde hair.
When did you start teaching her signs? I've been trying to use a few (all done, more, drink, hungry, tired) when I talk to Patrick lately. He's 7 months old now...I'm just not sure how it's done. I have the book, perhaps I should read it!
We started using those same signs with S-Boogie when she was about 6 months and she was about 8 or 9 months, if I recall correctly, when she started signing "more."
Like Savannah, S-Boogie doesn't sign much anymore--she's even lost interest in Signing Time.
Yeah, we had to do signs for a few months before she caught on. But she really did use them a lot for quite a while. Now that she can say things like "I don't want to clean up my toys, Mom", signing seems to have lost it's appeal. But, it was really nice when she couldn't talk very well. Having a sign to reinforce that "nuh" meant "milk" was a lifesaver. I know that "more" was one of her first ones and she'd use it all the time to mean that she wanted something. It was so cute...
Congrats on becoming a big sister.
.
Ah.
That's why we couldn't find it.
