12 Months

It feels like this last year went by in a blink of an eye. I can't believe our sweet little baby is already one year old! Sometimes I miss the cute little newborn stage, but since I felt terrible for the first two months of Little Dude's life--and he screamed for the first three or four--I'm kind of glad we're past that point now. He's not quite walking yet, but he can still get around quite well and he keeps all of us busy. Lately he's developed an obsession for putting things into or onto other things. One of his favorite toys is the set of nesting blocks; he loves to play with the smallest three blocks, fitting them together and taking them apart over and over again. He also can stack two or even three blocks on top of each other--a pretty amazing feat for such a little guy. I love his enthusiasm for life; he thinks everything is great, except for getting his clothes or diaper changed. He loves his sister and they are starting to play well together (sometimes). Although he makes plenty of sounds, I'm not sure if he's quite to the point of communication. However, he definitely understands many words. He can also sign "more" and uses it often to indicate when he wants food or when he wants to do something. Little Dude is growing up and turning into a sweet little boy. Bye bye baby, hello toddler.
