24 Months

I know I already posted last week for Little Dude's birthday, but I like to write down these monthly updates to remember what he's been up to since it changes so fast. Little Dude continues to make leaps and bounds verbally. He even manages to produce sentences like "no do that, I no like it". He's also showing a lot of amazing cognitive awareness, such as referring to himself and the things that belong to him: one time S-Boogie had a book and mentioned that it was technically his. Suddenly he sat up and said "Me book. [Little Dude] book". The other day he found two cards that both had pictures of Benny the Bull (from Dora--his favorite) and came running up saying "two Bennys". He loves to count and can count to ten, accurately much of the time. For a while he couldn't remember four and would say "one, two, three, ungh, five". He cleverly substitutes "ungh" for words he doesn't know, so Batman and Superman are usually "ungh man" because he has a hard time remembering the "bat" or "super" part. One of his favorite birthday presents was a Robin action figure that his sister picked out for him. He loves "Wobin" and carries it around with him, and has begun asking to look at some of the kid-friendly comics we have. Daddy is very proud. I'm also proud of Little Dude for being such a friendly, bright little guy. We have had our difficult moments lately too (going to bed is not a favorite past time), but generally he's a pretty happy Little Dude. Oh yeah, and since we're updating I should report his stats from our latest doctor visit. He's totally healthy and is solidly in the 50th percentile for height and weight (27 pounds and 34 inches).
