Little Dude's Birthday

We started the day with some special cereal that I bought for Little Dude.

We let him open one present from Grandma and Grandpa in the morning, since we knew it was clothes. He loves his new shirts and shorts and was happy to wear his octopus shirt all day.

After dinner we opened presents. He got a lot of help from his sister, who was just as excited about presents as he was. He got some fun books from Auntie Skye, some dinosaur coloring stuff and stamps from Grandma and Grandpa (and the clothes), new play-doh, and a garage playset that came with little trucks.
This is Little Dude posing with his train cake. My decorating skills are lacking, but he thought it was an awesome cake and talked all day about his train cake, so at least he was happy with my sad little attempt.
Good thing three-year-olds aren't too picky about this kind of stuff.

Today we also went to the doctor for his annual check-up and he passed with flying colors. He now weighs almost 31 pounds and is 37 inches tall, right about average for both height and weight. He did well on the eye chart as well, and totally charmed the doctor with his verbal skills. When the doctor told him "you're in great shape", Little Dude responded "Yes, I'm a rectangle!"

I love the train cake and his response to the doctor about being a rectangle. Very funny!
