Eighteen Months Old

This evening at the park seemed like a good opportunity for getting pictures of P.Bibby in her new dress from Grandma. She looks very sweet and so grown up. Her hands are full of wood chips because she loves the park and being outside. Her favorite things outside are sticks; when she's inside the house she likes to get pencils and pens to carry around. When we are outside she also likes to walk as fast as she can, as far as she can go. This is a girl who is not afraid of danger. During the last few days we have found two rocks and a penny in her dirty diapers. Thankfully so far P.Bibby has managed to stay safe, but not without a lot of vigilance on the part of Mom and Dad. It sounds like we need to try harder.

She recently started nursery and church and generally loves it. Things can be a little hard because we have afternoon church and she doesn't take a morning nap, but I think she gets enough sleep at night that skipping a nap occasionally doesn't seem to be a problem. During the last month she has also discovered her feisty side and is learning to throw little tantrums. P. Bibby usually wants, and asks for, juice, books, cheese, balls, S-Boogie's ducky, and her shoes. She can say quite a lot of words clearly now and is putting together little sentences like "hi doggy", "thank you", and "sit down". She is also become very attuned to routines and gets upset when we don't follow the protocol for certain things. However, most of the time she is very sweet and loves to give kisses and hugs. The people she talks about most during the day are "mommy" and "daddy", and I know she loves her brother and sister even if she doesn't say their names yet.
