This afternoon S-Boogie watched an episode of
Blue's Clues wherein Blue makes a tray of orange pops. She wanted to make orange pops and I remembered that we had an unused Popsicle tray in our cupboard, so we got out some orange juice, filled up the tray, and put it in the freezer. A few hours later, once S-Boogie and Little Dude had gotten ready for bed and cleaned up the living room, I had them sit down to the table while I went to the freezer to retrieve our orange pops. Sadly, they were not quite frozen in the middle. The kids were expecting a treat so I had to think fast. I pulled out some graham crackers, chocolate chips, and marshmallows, and made microwave s'mores.
I think the kids liked them.

And, lest you think I'm a completely horrible parent, here's evidence that their teeth were cleaned afterward.

Yum! This looks really tasty!
Who would think you're a horrible parent? I mean, last year, Dec and I decided—after the kids were already in their pajamas—that we were going to go to the 10:00 showing of a movie. I think it was Arthur and the Invisibles but don't really remember. Then, horror of horrors (according to their mother who will let them watch violent and/or scary movies but not Dreamgirls because it has "language"), we dragged them to Denny's and made them order pancakes and crepes and ice cream and hot chocolate.
