10 Months Old

Grandma bought P. Bibby this Christmas shirt--it says "always jolly" and that is an apt description for her. Most of the time she is pretty happy and busy. I didn't put her measurements on her nine-month post because she ended up with a nine-and-a-half month checkup due to her vaccination schedule. We were all very happy to see that she weighed in just an ounce under 16 pounds. That is a pretty substantial weight gain for her in just a few months, and she is back on the chart (and right around the same size as S-Boogie was at this age). She also seems to be following the family trend of long kids, since she is in the 5th percentile for weight but the 20th for height. Her clothes are all starting to get too short again and I might need to get out some twelve-month clothes for her soon. We are a lot less worried about her growth than we had been and hopefully she'll just keep growing and stay healthy.

This month she has also grown at least one tooth and another one on the bottom is starting to poke through. Her one little tooth is one of the top ones on the side, so she looks a bit snaggletoothed when she smiles. She is still scooting around on her belly on the floor, but also keeps getting up on her knees like she's going to do a regular crawl before deciding that she'd rather just sit instead. This past week she surprised us by deciding to try standing up. The ledge around our fireplace is the perfect height for her to pull up on, and she also likes it when we help her stand up next to the couch or boxes. Her new favorite toys this month are Little People figures. She likes to chew on them or bang them around and she has been a big fan of our new Little People nativity set. Every day she looks older and bigger and I can't believe she's almost a year old!

Those aren't real presents; they're just some big boxes we wrapped up and put in front of the tree to block it.

Great idea! (The boxes)I wondered if that was the plan when I saw the tree was in a different location than you'd orignially planned.

I can't stand seeing how cute she is when I'm too far away to kiss and squeeze her! Have fun making gingerbread houses--put on plenty of glitters...
