22 Months

Little Dude's language skills are really starting to blossom this month. He's picked up several new words, and he also has shown a lot of creative thinking lately. The other day he took off his sock, pointed to the lines on his ankle from it, and started signing "train" since they looked like train tracks! Tonight I told the kids I'd read them a new book about a duck that I had bought. He repeated "duck" and then ran off to their room for a minute before coming back with a copy of The Ugly Duckling for me. One of Little Dude's newest favorite words is "bu-bble". He says it with a little pause in the middle and it sounds so sweet. He likes bubble baths a lot, and he uses it to refer to the circles on one of my shirts. And when I picked him up from nursery and asked what they did in class he replied: "bu-bble". The other day we had an unfortunate accident with a curling iron and he has some very sad blisters on his hand. He looked at his blisters and said somewhat sadly: "bu-bble". He's also become quite fond of the alphabet and can name a bunch of the letters: "S, X, M, H, N, O, A". Another cute thing he does is to say "boo" when he sees people. We're glad we have our sweet Little Dude with us and are excited that he can say so much more. I just hope he can get out of his accident-prone stage soon.

He's so cute. I know I say that on every post, but he really is. He & TinyDes could probably have a whole conversation on signs alone.
