23 Months: Explosions

Everyone told me to be patient with Little Dude and his language development, and it turns out that they were right. This month he finally decided to start talking and he hasn't stopped yet. It's really hard to catalog this explosion in speech because he literally comes up with several new words every day and has started stringing some small phrases together. It's very sweet to finally get a better glimpse into his little brain and find out what he likes. Little Dude loves fruit, the color blue, his brown pants, and his sister "woofie". He also loves buses and "Doo-wa" (Dora). This month he has also started learning about numbers and increased the number of letters he can identify. Besides an explosion of vocabulary we've also had a lot of other little "explosions" over things that he wants and can't have and other disappointments. Little Dude's personality has switched from baby to toddler this month and we've all been suffering a bit from his disappointment when he finds out that he can't rule the world. We still love our Little Dude even when he's cranky and even when he takes off his pajamas and pees all over the crib. I can't believe he's going to be 2 next month--time sure flew by fast!

Wow. 2? Craziness. It seems just yesterday you guys posted that blog with the pregnancy test on it. I LOVED that, btw. Cool way to tell everyone!

I'll keep my fingers crossed, and hope that Theo has an explosion of words at 23 months.
