Summer Recap, Part 1

I have totally neglected this blog during the summer, and now that school is starting in a few days I thought I'd try and catch up a little. I've also realized that I need to do a better job about taking pictures when we go places, especially taking pictures with the people we are visiting. Hopefully we'll do more of that next summer. These pictures are from camping with my family in California in July. On our way down to Las Vegas we stopped at Cove Fort in central Utah and the kids loved learning all about the pioneers. Here we all are on a covered wagon.

The kids loved having a campfire every night; Auntie Skye is showing them how to roast Starburst candies. We also had s'mores just about every night too.

Flying kites on the beach near the campground.

Posing with the fountain outside the old Santa Barbara mission. I'm sad we didn't get a picture of the kids with the mission in the background since it's pretty cool looking. They really liked the fish and the water lilies in the fountain.

Little Dude told me that his favorite part of camping was sleeping in the tent, and they actually slept great every night we were there. I think they were worn out from playing and they had a nice cozy air mattress to sleep on. I didn't sleep as well, but I'd rather they get a good night's sleep and don't bother me, so I'm glad they liked the tent.
